Early childhood education in Auckland
A warm place for curious, confident learners.
WonderKids Childcare & Preschool supports children through genuine interests, meaningful relationships and rich everyday learning.
Why choose WonderKids
Care, curriculum and community working together.
Our curriculum
From children’s interests to life skills.
Our curriculum has two strong pathways. We listen carefully to what children are noticing right now, then extend those interests into projects, language, relationships, movement and independent living skills.
Spontaneous Project
We begin with children's real interests and questions, then use those moments to build meaningful investigations, hands-on learning and deeper conversations.
Independent Living Skills
Daily routines become opportunities for tamariki to practise self-help skills, problem solving, social competence, care for others and growing independence.
Wellbeing & Belonging
Our curriculum supports each child to feel seen, safe and connected, especially through respectful relationships, whānau partnership and predictable routines.
Construction & Inquiry
Children explore materials, tools, safety, roles and problem solving through hands-on construction play and real-world observations.

Project-based learning
Learning grows from real questions.
When children wonder, observe, build, test and talk together, their learning becomes active and memorable. Teachers intentionally extend these moments through resources, community links and responsive teaching.

Community engagement
Learning with people, places and real resources.
We invite community partners into our programme so children can connect their learning with everyday life. Experiences such as the Fire Truck visit, St John in Schools and the Auckland Museum Volcano Van support safety awareness, science thinking, language, confidence and belonging.
Fire Truck Visit
Children meet emergency helpers, explore safety messages and ask questions through a memorable real-life experience.
Volcano Van
The Auckland Museum Volcano Van brings science, natural hazards and hands-on inquiry directly into our centre.
St John in Schools
First-aid awareness supports children's confidence, care for others and understanding of how helpers keep people safe.
